Sustainable Living
Living on an island the size of Koh Tao – sustainable living becomes ever so more important to us as a community

Of course with the rapid growth of travellers visiting Koh Tao, the island has, attimes, struggled to keep the balance between the ever-expanding tourist industry and the natural environment.
The local community here understands that sustainable tourism is the future of Koh Tao, well at least some of us do. Local business owners established the Save Koh Tao community group in 2000 and the group aims to address local environmental concerns and to educate and develop understanding in the community to work towards a sustainable tourism industry on the island.
Baan Talay and its owners are a big part of this group and always does what it can to support environmental activities.
When you spend your hard earned money with us please know that we do our best to make sure we look after the environment and try to make our activities as ‘green’ as possible. Please contact us if you would like to find out more and how you can get involved in our conservation activities.
